The School Leadership Academy (SLA), supported by the CTF Education Group (CTFEG), held a commencement ceremony on 14 May 2025 (Wednesday) to celebrate the achievements of middle leaders from Victoria Educational Organisation (VEO) in the Future-Focused Middle Leadership Programme. This project was SLA’s first year-long initiative of its one-of-a-kind Future-focused School-based Leadership Programme, specially designed for VEO to empower its middle-level educators to drive meaningful change in their respective contexts.
Middle leaders from VEO enhanced their leadership skills through the Future-Focused School Leadership Framework, which integrates a comprehensive 360-degree diagnostic tool, personalised mentoring, face-to-face learning, and a residential workshop held at the Kindervarsity Hub in Guangzhou, China. Under the expert guidance of Dr Arnett Edwards, Founding Director of the School Leadership Academy, and Ms Christina Wong, former principal of Hong Kong University Graduates Association Primary School, participants built a comprehensive leadership skill set by deepening their understanding of core leadership principles, including the distinction between leadership and management. This foundation was complemented by developing cultural competence through intercultural communication frameworks, alongside enhancing practical skills in handling difficult conversations and dealing with contingencies. The programme culminated in a practical leadership endeavour, enabling participants to integrate and apply their learning in real-world contexts.
At the commencement ceremony, Dr Arnett Edwards said: “Leading in Early Years education requires a unique blend of empathy, vision, and adaptability. These 18 middle leaders have embraced this challenge, demonstrating how future-focused leadership can transform early childhood learning environments.”
Mr Cassy Yu, Group Director of Operations of VEO, extended his congratulations to the middle leaders and gave recognition to the programme. “VEO places great importance on school leadership development and nurturing, committed to enhancing the professional expertise and practical skills of middle leaders through systematic training.”
As a key partner of VEO, SLA will continue to provide professional support and resources, working together to promote the continuous growth of school leadership and educational innovation.
